Answer: Option A
Solution:
The F1 hybrid of pepper is Paniyur-1.
Black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) (Family: Piperaceae) is a perennial vine grown for its berries and extensively used as a spice and in medicine. India is one of the major producers, consumers and exporters of black pepper in the world. Black pepper is cultivated to a large extent in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Panniyur-1, Panniyur-3, and Panniyur-8 are hybrids that evolved at the Pepper Research Station, Panniyur (Kerala Agricultural University).
It prefers hot, humid, and tropical climates and can not tolerate areas where temperatures drop below 5°C. In cooler areas, grow black pepper in a container, and winter indoors or in a greenhouse.
