Answer: Option A

Solution

Answer: Option A
Solution:
Haploid plants have been produced by anther culture in tomato by Greshof and Doy.
Experimental induction of androgenesis from cultured anthers was first attempted in tomatoes by Gresshoff and Doy, in 1972 soon after the discovery of the process by Guha and Maheshwari (1964).
Anther culture means plant regeneration from the haploid microspore cells with the aim of haploid and dihaploid plant production.
