Horticultural Society of India (HSI) was set up in 1942 at Pusa.The Indian Academy of Horticultural Sciences ( formerly the Horticultural Society of India) had its headquarters at Lyallpur, Punjab (now in Pakistan) on its inception on 1st January 1942.
