a. Black soil - Malwa
Black soils are derivatives of trap lava. Black soils spread across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh on the Deccan lava plateau and the Malwa.

b. Red-Yellow soil - Bundelkhand
Red-yellow soil is mainly found in Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand region. It is found around 37% area of Madhya Pradesh.

c. Laterite soil - Morena
Laterite, soil layer that is rich in iron oxide and derived from a wide variety of rocks weathering under strongly oxidizing and leaching conditions. It forms in tropical and subtropical regions where the climate is humid.

d. Alluvial soil - Shivpuri
Alluvial soil is mostly found in the northwest part of Madhya Pradesh, mainly Morena district, Bhind district, Gwalior district and Shivpuri district.
