Mode of action of spiromesifen is

A.
Feeding blocker
B.
Na channel inhibitor
C.
Inhibitor Lipid biosynthesis
Answer
D.
GABA agonist

Answer: Option C

Solution

Answer: Option C
Solution:
Mode of action of spiromesifen is inhibitor Lipid biosynthesis.
Spiromesifen is a novel insecticidal/acaricidal compound derived from spirocyclic tetronic acids that act effectively against whiteflies and mites via inhibition of acetyl-CoA-carboxylase, a lipid metabolism enzyme.
It acts on lipid synthesis by inhibiting acetyl CoA carboxylase and causes a significant decrease in total lipids.
