Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi

The college has Named after the Lady Founder Chairman, Saraswathi Ganesan Students' Hostel was started in the year 1984 with 85 inmates. Now there are sixty-two rooms in the two-storeyed hostel building. With all the basic facilities, the hostel can accommodate around 300 students. Also, there is a separate hall for recreation with the latest AV facilities (color TV, DVD Player, etc.). A residential tutor helps the inmates during their stay in the hostel. Two hours are allotted for compulsory study (except Saturday). Teaching staff members provide adequate additional guidance during examinations to the inmates of the hostel. The kitchen is provided with steam cooking equipment for hygienic food preparation. Bacteria-free water is available to the students for drinking purposes. The mess bill is based on the dividing system.

The college has new Girls’ hostel has been constructed to accommodate 25 inmates. Now the building is located opposite the Information Technology block. The plinth area of the building is 176 m2. The estimated cost of construction is 11 Lakhs. This building has a provision for a separate warden's chamber and is provided with a ramp facility to facilitate students with disabilities.

There is a good collection of textbooks &; reference books including titles on the latest technologies, audio & video cassettes, multimedia CDs, and technical journals.

The college has a great emphasis on promoting Physical Education in our Polytechnic. They have provided facilities to the students to play all major games like Hockey, volleyball, basketball, handball, Cricket, and Football, and indoor games like Carrom, Chess, Shuttle Badminton, and table tennis. A 400-meter track provides facilities for all field events. All the playfields are maintained with great care. Students are given compulsory games in the evenings. Separate coaching is arranged for selected players of various games.

The college has department has well-equipped laboratories with internet provision for giving intensive practical training to the students. The major laboratories in the department are: Electrical and Electronics LabC and Data Structures Lab Operating System LabWeb Designing LabJava Programming LabComputer Network and Security LabRDBMS Lab.Net Programming LabPC Hardware Servicing LabMultimedia Lab

The college has provided snacks, Tiffin, and beverages a canteen with separate buildings is functioning on the campus for the benefit of staff, students, and visitors. The canteen is open on all the working days.

The college has buses are plying between AGP and Sivakasi. One college bus is plying between AGP and Virudhunagar. Staff and students are entitled to make use of the bus service available between Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, and the Polytechnic. The buses are also available for industrial visits and tours by students and staff.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College Staff and Students Co-operative stores serve the staff members and students by supplying essential commodities like students' writing and stationery items, books, notebooks, etc., uniform clothes, cosmetics and toilet items like soaps, talcum powder, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc., eatables like biscuits, chocolates, etc., nutrient food items at a nominal cost. All the staff and students of the Polytechnic are members of the stores.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
