Ashoka Law College, Kathua

A modern girl's hostel with a capacity to accommodate 100 female students has been constructed within the campus to provide full security to the girls. The girls have more than 40 residential rooms equipped with study tables, storage almirahs & electric gadgets to provide maximum comforts to make the hostel a home away from home. Besides, a modern kitchen and a dining room have been provided within the hostel itself. Other facilities in the hostel include the availability of hot water, water coolers, STD/ISD, FAX & photostat facilities. There is a college canteen attached to the hostel to meet their needs under one roof.

The college has accorded top priority in funding allocation to the establishment of a library to serve as a storehouse of knowledge. The library is equipped with the latest books on different subjects listed in the syllabi. Besides, it subscribes to about two dozen Indian & foreign journals, including some outstanding publications like the American Journal of International Law, for the Journal of Legal Studies. Besides, the library has reprographic & repackaging facilities and provides students with the desired study material on demand. The Library has the most efficient, well-qualified staff always ready to meet the needs & aspirations of the students.

To imbibe the "Mooting Culture" in all the students, the college has introduced the concept of moot courts, which involves the arguing of points of Law by students' "Judges," usually comprised of members of the faculty & practicing advocates. Mooting allows the students to practice the art of advocacy, and the college lays emphasis on this activity to equip students for their future professions.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a computer lab. For data processing, interpretation, graphical representation, etc. The computer lab has 10 Pentium-4 4 computers for imparting computer skills to students to make use of them for skill enhancement. The students are also given training in Email & internet usage.

The college has a sports committee comprising students and staff to organize sports activities. A member of the teaching staff heads as chairman of the sports committee. The institution has extensive facilities for games like volleyball and basketball, and separate facilities are provided for indoor games such as carom board, table tennis, chess, etc. Ample opportunities are provided to students for improving their standards and talents in games, sports, and physique.

The College canteen is available within the college premises. The college canteen caters to the needs of the students and staff of the institutions at subsidized rates. The students are expected to maintain proper civic sense whenever they visit the canteen.

The college has a boys’ hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a fast and frequent public transport service that links the college with the city. The management has provided two buses, one is 52 52-seater deluxe coach and the other is 40 40-seater Swaraj Mazda for college students, which run on different routes. Students coming from the city and the surrounding areas can hire the college bus.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
