Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training, Kochi

The College at Kochi has a well-equipped Library and documentation system, having a good collection of Technical books/Journals in various subjects, viz. Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Fishing Craft, Gear Technology, Workshop Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, Fishery Biology, Fish handling, Marine Meteorology, Oceanography, Refrigeration, Hydraulics, etc. Reference facilities are also provided to the visiting scholars and students of various Institutions from these libraries.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college is equipped with well-established laboratory facilities with models for undertaking practical training in fishing gear materials, design, and repairs.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a boys’ hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Trade courses provided by the institute are residential. Hence, to accommodate all the trainees, all 3 centers of CIFNET have excellent hostel facilities. At the main campus, CIFNET Cochin, a new modern hostel facility was inaugurated in the golden jubilee year of CIFNET in 2013, and has all the facilities to accommodate 150 students at a time.

The college has a girls' hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Trade courses provided by the institute are residential. The college has Motive of the placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
