Deen Dayal Upadhyay Government Post Graduate College, Sitapur

The College library of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Post Graduate College, Sitapur UP is serving efficiently the needs of its users. The college library has a good collection of books to cater to the needs of students and teachers. We have a nice collection of reference books in the stream of Humanities, Science, and Commerce. We have nearly two thousand reference books. We also have some collections of rare books in the stream of Humanities. We do not have a collection of manuscripts etc. We are trying to collect rare documents from those public libraries where the facility of conservation and preservation is not available. We are also planning to contact various Government Organizations to donate reference material such as research reports, social surveys, etc. to strengthen our reference section. Many renowned persons such as doctors, lawyers, and academicians of the town told us to donate the books to the library, and we hope we will find the same very soon. We are in touch with Hindi Sabha Sitapur and Purushottam Rajarshi Tandon Hindi Sansthan, Lucknow to get the collection of Hindi books and other books in Hindi. We are in the process of automation of library. After the automation of our library, we are planning to make a union catalogue of all the Public libraries, Academic libraries, and Special libraries of the Sitapur and Khairabad towns to provide a good collection to the society.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The College hostel building was constructed in 2007 under Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yozna by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The hostel was handed over to the college in March 2012. The hostel has a total capacity of 49 rooms with double occupancy and is equipped with facilities like Pure drinking water(RO), a Badminton Court, a Volleyball court, and indoor games like carom, chess, etc. Allotment of hostel is done per the criterion of central government i.e. 70 % of total capacity is allotted to the SC/ST category students and the rest of the allotment is done to the other students on a merit basis. The college/hostel does not receive any kind of financial assistance/grant from any government or non-government body. Administration of the hostel is performed through a committee that includes the Warden, Assistant Warden, and two members. The committee looks into all the matters related to the hostel like allotment of rooms to the students, maintenance of the hostel, discipline, no ragging environment, social equity, etc. Hostels play a key role in facilitating education the students belonging to rural and remote areas. The hostel runs on a No Profit No loss basis.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The Canteen with Student Facility center is located in mid of college campus to provide basic amenities to our students. Canteen / Student facility center provides services like photocopier machine, filling of Online application form and other job work and refreshment on minimum charges.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college also encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.
