Don Bosco College of Arts and Science College, Thoothukudi

The College Hostel is available for students from far. The hostel can accommodate a total of 120 students only. The students of Don Bosco College, Keela Eral, are eligible to avail hostel facility. The students, after completing admission to the College, have to make a separate application to join the hostel. The Application is available in the Hostel Office during working hours. The college has the Auxilium Girl’s Hostel is available on the next campus, which is owned and maintained by the Salesian sisters. The Limited seats are offered only to girls from far. The Application is available in the Hostel Office.

The College library of Don Bosco College of Arts and Science has been functioning since the year 2013. The library fulfills its aim of satisfying the quest for learning of the students. A New Library block with an estimated cost of 52 lacs was opened on 21 January 2017.

The College of Arts and Science has two buses that pick up students from Thoothukudi and another from Vilathikulam.

The college has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college had demarcated a large area of land for Outdoor games namely: Cricket, Volley Ball, Ball Badminton, Throw Ball, Tennis, and a multi-purpose ground for Softball, Football, and Hockey. The college is provided with Indoor games also in an area of nearly 300 Sq.m,   which is furnished with Gymnasium and accommodating the indoor games like Table Tennis, Caroms, Chess etc., to horn the skills in the respective games as well as to enhance the physical fitness of the students and faculty.

The college canteen provides light refreshments and snacks at reasonable rates to the students and staff of the college with the highest quality. It is run by a third party and monitored by the college.

The college has spacious with a seating capacity of 2000 students. It is the center for various extra-curricular, cultural, and educational activities like seminar talks, debates, plays, movie screenings, and departmental festivals. For many students, the auditorium provides the stage where they overcome their stage fright and learn to give their first performances of their college life.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The College all the old students under one roof, the Alumni Association of Dr.NGPASC has been formed. Over ten thousand students have successfully graduated so far from the College since its inception.

The college has Classroom sessions that adopt effective teaching methods that make the teaching and learning process interesting and enjoyable. The rooms are made techno-friendly with LCD projectors fixed for PPT classes.

The College Campus-wide Wi-Fi enables students and faculty members to connect with the College portal and the Internet at any time and any place.

The institute’s Sick Room is ready to provide health care services to the students reporting physical illness at point of time during the class hours. Treatments are given for common issues like fainting attacks, vomiting, abdominal pain, backache and other ailments. Our college has a sick room with two beds for medical emergency of the students. A well-stocked first aid box is available for immediate treatment.

The College photocopy shop is available within the college premises. Students, faculty and staff can use this facility during the college timings at reasonable charges.

The college has a club facility for the students.

The college has a career guidance and placement cell facility for the students.

The college also provides workshop facilities for all the students.
