Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women, Chennai

The college has a Central Library that provides a range of collections, services, and study spaces for students. The library is housed in a large hall stocked with a wide variety of reading material. The Library has a total collection of about 32,000 books and provides access to more than 100 journals and magazines. Online E-RESOURCES, UGC-N-List, DELNET, and INFLIBNET facility which provides access to a number of online articles is also available. A Book bank with more than 2500 books is available. A photocopying facility is provided for the benefit of Students and Faculty. The College has an institutional membership with the British Council Library, The American Library (USCG), and the University of Madras which the students and faculty make use of to widen their knowledge in diverse fields. The college is a member of the NDLI club (National Digital Library club).WiFi facility is available for students and faculty members. Apart from the Central Library, each Department has a functional library of select books pertaining to the syllabus.

The college has sports facilities for all students. sports and games like volleyball, football, shuttle badminton, etc.

The College has a well-equipped air-conditioned Computer Laboratory which has Pentium servers and nodes. The latest software with an internet connection is also available.

The college has There is a canteen within the campus, which serves healthy and tasty food, in a hygienic manner, at reasonable rates. Students are requested to return the plates and spoons to the canteen after use and not leave them around the campus.

The college has An auditorium that can accommodate around 800 people.

The college has good networking for the alumni association. The Alumni Association of Dr. MGR Janaki College was formed in 1999. The initiation of the final-year students into the Alumnae Association is held at the end of the academic year. Active and zestful Alumni are the brand ambassadors of the ideals and values of the college. Many of them are far-flung. Even though they may not be able to be physically present, they are homeward-bound in spirit and do everything possible to help their juniors find a footing in this world. The annual meeting of the alumni association is held every year in November.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. Expensive equipment has been installed in the laboratories for the benefit of the students. Great care must be taken in handling equipment. Work tables and sanitary fittings should be kept absolutely clean at all times. All breakages and losses must be reported to the concerned staff in charge immediately.
