Government Arts and Science College for Women, Orathanadu

The college library provides its students with more than seven thousand books and journals which include several categories such as humanities, science and social sciences, and commerce-related fields.

Government Arts and Science College for Women Orathanadu IT infrastructure, which includes fully functional desktop computers with internet connectivity for students, improves student’s technical and computer skills. And also the college's IT staff is in charge of regulating the computer lab.

The college has different well-maintained and well-equipped laboratories for different departments such as Geology, Computer Science, Physics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology. The students are encouraged to work in the laboratories for research-based and extra credentials projects.

Being a women’s college the campus facility includes a well-furnished and well-maintained hygienic hostel for the young aspirant girls of the college. Girls hostel has a supervising professor who takes care of every necessity of the students and maintains decorum in the hostel. The hostel is under surveillance.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college features a sizable field that could potentially be used for a variety of outdoor pursuits, including volleyball, kho-kho, athletics and many more. GASCW Orathanadu Sports Complex gives students every resource that they require to improve in the field of sports.

GASCW Orathanadu has an air-conditioned auditorium, which accommodates a large number of students and is used for holding various events such as seminars, college cultural programmes, college fest and invitational events.

The cafeteria of the Government Arts and Science College for Women is best known for its delicious and healthy food provided to its students by the college. The college cafeteria has a proper schedule for the meals provided on different days of the week. 

Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a movement established by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which students involve themselves in creating an awareness of HIV/AIDS

The Cultural team in the college is vibrant and active.  College life offers the student, not only academic opportunities but also other experiences of fostering themselves in the field of their interest.
