Government Autonomous College, Rourkela

The GAC Rourkela has two boys hostels (one exclusively for Tribal boys) to accommodate students of both U.G. and P.G. Classes.

GAC Rourkela hostels provide 24-hour water supply, power supply and medical facilities. The hostels are created in a way to provide a conducive living and learning environment.

The GAC Rourkela library has Books in the college library that are classified into sections and subsections. The staff and the students of the college may use the college library. A librarian manages the works of a library under the supervision of a teaching member of the staff.

GAC Rourkela sports facilities are provided with the necessary equipment to promote physical fitness and overall development. GAC Rourkela teams participate in inter-college competitions and even participate at the national level.

GAC Rourkela IT Infrastructure includes a computer centre, Wi-Fi connectivity and more, available in well-maintained and multifaceted conditions.

The GAC Rourkela has a canteen facility for staff and students. The college has a good Canteen within the campus. Each year the canteen is managed by a competing party on a tender basis.

The GAC Rourkela has a big open-to-sky auditorium with a gallery capacity of around 5000 to accommodate. A good-sized stage is used for various occasions like Annual Functions and other activities. The college also has a well-equipped auditorium-cum-seminar hall with a capacity of 1000 to accommodate. The basic purpose of this hall is to conduct Seminars and other functions and inter-disciplinary activities.

GAC Rourkela Alumni Association guides students in placement through their connections.

A centralized High-speed Wi-Fi system is activated within the campus for the usage of offices, Departments, Students, and more.

The GAC Rourkela library has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. The college has a language laboratory managed by the Department of English. This lab is well equipped with ICT facilities to conduct programs from time to time.

GAC Rourkela has a parking area as well to avoid any kind of inconvenience faced by the students, staff or guardians.

GAC Rourkela is well-equipped for addressing minor health issues with basic medical facilities and in case of major ones, the institute has tie-ups with nearby hospitals and clinics for specialised medical needs.

GAC Rourkela gym is well-equipped with a modern gym setup and offers expert trainers to the students as well.

GAC Rourkela guest rooms are for the stay of either guardians or guests. The guest room has all the required amenities.

The GAC Rourkela has a training and placement cell facility for all students.
