Government College of Engineering, Salem

There are three hostels for boys. It can accommodate 569 boys. All basic facilities are provided to the students. The hostel has a canteen, mess, fax, phone, recreational facilities and many other facilities.

There are two hostels for girls that can accommodate 279. The hostel mess provides meals to the students. Wifi and purified water are available in the hostel.

A dispensary is present on campus. It also has a medical officer, a nurse, a pharmacy store, two beds, etc.

Government College of Engineering Salem facilities include a library. The library has many textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, e-books, CDs, DVDs and other academic resources. Online services are also provided by the college. More than 60,000 books are available in the college library. The library has adopted the Universal Decimal Classification system.

GCE Salem provides a large number of sports facilities to the students. This includes fields and grounds for various outdoor games. Courts and fields for football, cricket, hockey, handball, volleyball, badminton, etc are available. Indoor games like carrom, table tennis, chess, etc are available in the college.

The college has the latest and modern IT infrastructure facilities.

The college auditorium is used by the students and faculty to conduct various activities and functions. It is equipped with an LCD projector, slide projector and overhead projector.
