Government DB Girls PG Autonomous College, Raipur

The College has a hostel that has served as the second home for the girls of this tribal state. The hostel environment has successfully brought together the traditional tribal culture of rural Chhattisgarh with the modern scientific temper of urban India. To accommodate 600 students, the following facilities are available.

The college is a ‘Golden Treasury’ in the form of a rich library with almost 63,022 Books, 57 National and International Journals, and several magazines and newspapers. The library runs on SOUL software. Study material in Braille is made available for visually- challenged students. The library is equipped with computers and printers. The library is equipped with N-list journals. Free Internet access and Xerox facility are available. The newly built huge reading room attached to the library is an added advantage with a display of periodicals, newspapers, and magazines to the teachers and students of this institution. Separate spaces are provided for research scholars and differently-abled.

The college has an excellent track record of sports activities. Organization of inter-college, interdistrict and state-level tournaments are a regular feature. Regular coaching camps are organized. The students of this college regularly participate in inter-sector, inter-university, and state-level tournaments. Both indoor and outdoor games facilities are Indoor games facilities have also been provided such as badminton court, table tennis, carrom, chess, etc. A huge playground for outdoor games like hockey, cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, Kabaddi, etc.

The college has 15 well-equipped laboratories for science, home science, and art faculty including a dietetics laboratory, a food science, and quality control laboratory, and a centralized computer laboratory with internet facilities.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College Canteen and meal service is to protect by reducing the risk of food-borne illness, with proper sanitary conditions, and preventing adulterated food at a reasonable price. From the very beginning of the College, the College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College. The hostellers and day scholars are provided meals by ensure food safety and quality.

The College An auditorium with a seating capacity of over 1000 has been standing for 63 years at the College. As a pioneer of such a facility, the state of this auditorium has witnessed many memorable events including a visit by the First women President of India Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil to commemorate the Golden Jubilee year (2008) of the establishment of this college.

The College gymnasium is available to students, and staff members to play pick-up sports such as basketball or volleyball, participate in fitness stations, run laps, etc.

The college has a health center with a student first aid facility.
