Government Degree College, Anantnag

GDC Anantnag hostel facility provides residence for 250 students. The hostel includes DTH, aquaguards, electric geysers and full Wi-Fi access throughout the hostel. Government Degree College has also installed a solar energy unit. The hostel has a contributory mess which is operated by hostellers under the supervision of the hostel warden.

The college has a central library in a multi-story fire-safe building, which is fully automated and equipped with surveillance and intercom systems. It has a rich collection of about 59,221 textbooks on different subjects. In addition, the library has a Reference Section with 3,357 volumes, a best seller corner, and a lifelong subscription to N-List (online journals).

Government Degree College has science laboratories equipped with the latest instruments for carrying out practical work. Computer labs are accessible for students studying in Computer Applications, BCA, B.Sc. IT, BBA, BMMMC, Geography, Statistics, Electronics, and Commerce courses.

The college has a big auditorium of five hundred seating capacity where seminars, conferences, workshops, debates, dramas, and extension activities are held. This is the best spot for hosting freshers and farewell parties along with cultural fests.

GDC Anantnag is equipped with a modern canteen that is operated by a well-experienced caterer. It provides the students and the faculty with nutritious, tasty and hygienic vegetarian food. Snacks and soft drinks are also available. Modern cooking equipment that includes steam boilers for rice and vegetables has been installed to provide wholesome food. The college canteen can accommodate almost 100 students at any time. Both Kashmiri and other Indian dishes are served on the daily menu for the students and faculty.

The college runs a medical centre under a trained Medical Assistant of the J&K Health Department, meant for providing first aid to the students and faculty. In addition, the college organises general health checkup programs for its students and staff every quarter.

GDC Anantnag sport facility has the latest equipment for both indoor as well as outdoor games. The college has a vast playground for games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton, and Kabbadi. The college has a mechanised pitch roller for maintaining the ground.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure for the students, making it easy for them, such as high-end computer systems with updated software.

Government Degree College Anantnag has a parking lot for car parking to the right side of the Main Gate and a scooter parking space behind the Administrative block.

The college provides photocopying for the students at reasonable rates in the Administrative block. It facilitates ease in preparing notes during examinations.

The college has a good network for the alumni association that assists in providing career networks and mentorships to students.

GDC Anantnag has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
