Government Engineering College, Modasa

The GEC Modasa has a boys hostel near its campus with four separate blocks to accommodate students from various parts of Gujarat and other states. The boys’ hostel can accommodate roughly 444 students in 148 rooms. According to Gujarat government regulations, admission to the hostel is based on merit rank, department wise and category wise. Students are only allowed to stay in the hostel for a maximum of six semesters (3rd year). There is a mess in the hostel and the mess is open for lunch and dinner twice a day. The private mess contractor is in charge of the mess.

The college has a health centre that caters to the needs of students and faculty members in an emergency. For any medical emergencies, a medical attendant and a doctor on call are available.

The central library of GEC Modasa is the hub for information services, as well as a gathering place for faculty and students from many technological fields. It also acts as a key learning and resource centre. It is a resourceful and innovative partner in the institute's teaching, learning, scholarship, and research efforts. The library is located in the LRC building that has a librarian cabin, a newspaper reading area, a book issue and return area, a reference section, a digital library section, a magazine section, and a reading room with Wi-Fi internet access. The library has a large collection of books in subjects like engineering, management, basic science and humanities and also includes reference books and other e-resources. All of the institute's students and faculty members are required to register as library members for free. All students (UG/PG) and faculty members are given book borrowing privileges, subject to the rules and regulations set forth.

In the college, there has been several sports facilities. The college hosts a sports carnival, inter-class contests, and sports day every year. The college gives coaching facilities to students for various games in order to provide adequate training and grooming. GEC Modasa campus provides a lot of open space for outdoor sports. Cricket, football, hockey, basketball, badminton, table tennis, kabaddi, kho-kho teams are there in the college. The Gymkhana building houses a canteen, a table tennis room, and a tennis court, among other amenities.

Students can access the internet with unlimited information using Internet services in the well-equipped internet lab, which provides high-speed connectivity. Several well-equipped computer laboratories, a computer network laboratory and a computer help desk are among the computer facilities offered to students, teachers, and administrative staff. Most computer laboratories are free of classes and are completely available to students during their allotted time to complete homework, practise, research, or explore the internet. Each department has its computer centre with 100 MBPS NKN internet leased line connectivity and all centres are connected to the internet.

There is a well-maintained cafeteria on the college campus. It is operated twice a day at lunch and dinner and is operated by the private mess contractor. The mess serves healthy and nutritious food to both students and staff members in the college.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.

For the benefit of the students, the college provides spacious and well-equipped departmental-based laboratories.
