Government First Grade College, Shikaripura

The library is a very significant part of any educational institution. It indicates the quality of teaching-learning activity in an institution. The college has a separate building for the library with three floors. The total area of all floors is 1470 sq. mts. At present, only the first floor, measuring 490 sq. mts is being utilized for the library. There is an auditorium on the ground floor that can accommodate about 250 audiences. The second floor measuring 490 sq. mts can be used for the further extension of the library. The Reading Room is a part of the library with about one hundred seating capacity. There are 38753 books in the library. 19 Journals and 15 Magazines are subscribed. The library is automated and the readers can participate in resource sharing networks like inflibnet and get themselves access to 31,50,000 e-books and 6500 e-journals. A separate reference section is provided where both students and teachers can make use of books, journals, and magazines. Seven computers are made accessible to the students and teachers. A drinking water facility is also provided. The library functions from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm on all working days.

The college has been giving maximum encouragement to sports activities. Various physical education directors, who have worked in this institution have done their best to train the students into the best players and athletes. As a result, the students have been performing well not only at the university level but also at the state level and the national level.  Both girls and boys have been given equal opportunity to participate in all the sports activities. The students are champions in wrestling, athletics, and cricket.  

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. It is run by a contractor and supervised by the canteen committee consisting of teachers and the Students Union. The college canteen serves as an eating and meeting place for students.

The college has One multipurpose auditorium, One small and one big auditorium.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.  The active Alumni Association regularly organizes get-togethers. panel discussions and career counseling events on the college premises. A nominal one4ime enrolment fee is charged in the final year from those students who are interested.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The College has well-equipped laboratories for computer science. BCA, Chemistry, Electronics. Mathematics and Physics. The laboratories are equipped with the latest equipment with ICT facilities.

The college has a health care center with a first facility for the students.

There is a stationery store in the college. It is managed by the staff welfare committee which provides timely stationary Items to the students and staff.
