Government General Degree College, Kalna

The College has an enriched, well-equipped, and furnished library. The library has a large and rich collection of textbooks, reference books, and e-resources for the users (students, faculty, and other staff). The library has subscribed to the N-List programme of INFLIBNET, where all the library users can remotely access a large number of e-journals and e-books from different publishers. In addition, the library also provides reading room service, reference service, lending service, reprographic service, and new arrival service.

The College provides its students with games and sports facilities. The college sports room has arrangements for indoor games like carrom. There is also a badminton and volleyball court on the college campus. Government General Degree College, Kalna, also provides an opportunity for regular practice of various throwing and jumping events.

 The College has an IT infrastructure, which includes fully functional desktop computers with internet connectivity for students, improving students’ technical and computer skills. And also, the college's IT staff is in charge of regulating the computer lab.

The College has different well-maintained and well-equipped laboratories for different departments such as Geology, Computer Science, Physics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology. The students are encouraged to work in the laboratories for the research-based and extra-credit projects.

The College has a fully air-conditioned auditorium with modern audiovisual aids to conduct seminars and symposia and thereby help in improving students' academic attainment. Eminent personalities and organisations visit our college premises on different occasions and deliver lectures addressing students and encouraging them to learn.

The College has a well-maintained guest room for the family members of students and faculty members who are visiting the college.

The College has fully furnished and hygienic classrooms for students as well as for faculty members.
