Government General Degree College, Mangalkote

The College started its journey in 2015 in an environment-friendly location, surrounded by a big dighi and vast paddy fields. The college library was set up in the academic session 2015-16 with 378 books. The library has gradually increased its need-based collections and is now fully functioning with 3076 books. It is conspicuously located on the left side of the main entrance of the college, in the ground floor of the college building. It has an area of around 1200 sq. ft. The area is under CC TV surveillance and is fully air-conditioned.

The College has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The College has canteen is conveniently located at the heart of the campus. It is a spacious area designed to accommodate students, faculty members, and staff. The canteen’s ambience is bright with inviting colours, equipped with comfortable seating arrangements. It offers a diverse menu catering to various tastes and dietary preferences, which includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. From hearty breakfast items to light snacks, wholesome lunch dishes, and regional desserts, there is something for everyone. Apart from food, the canteen also provides instant tea and coffee, where students and faculty members can grab a quick refreshment between classes

The College has Sports committee comes under the purview of the Teachers’ Council and is organised with faculty members from every department of the institution. It aims to keep the students engaged in physical activities that boosts their overall health. It also gives a platform to the students with exceptional athletic capabilities to showcase their talent. To others, it provides a scope for self-discovery through participation in athletics. The talented students are identified and encouraged to participate in district, state or national level sports events. For this purpose, the committee organizes a ‘Sports Day’ every year during the winter season (January-February). Besides, the committee also maintains sports equipment (e.g. badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, cricket bats, balls, carrom board, etc.) throughout the year.

The College has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College possesses two state-of-the-art smart classrooms which enable and nuances its project of nurturing global skills and contemporary competencies among students in a predominantly rural setting. The large, air-conditioned smart classrooms cum hall rooms for seminar and workshop, and other cultural events of the college are located in the first and second floor of the college building.

The College has extra activities, for example, NSS, and NCC Facilities for all the students. 

The College also provides Training and Placement facilities for all the students.

The College has different Clubs like Kanyashree Club, which students can join.
