Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi

The College has maintained a Medical-Aid center for the first aid of the students. The required medicines are available in the center, which is looked after by Prof. Parwinder Kaur and Prof. Anuradha.

The college has a well-stocked library, with a collection of books ranging from encyclopedias to fiction, textbooks to journals and reference books, and general awareness of competitive books. To inculcate the habit of reading amongst the students, the library has a well-furnished reading room. All the students, the faculty members, and the non-teaching staff have access to the books and the reading room.

The College has a playground that is coming up very soon. Presently, the students are trained at the Mini Stadium situated near the college regularly, and every student is expected to play at least one game. Every student is expected to have the usual equipment for the games he/she opts for. The College provides a facility for the following games/sports. Cricket, Hockey, Volleyball, Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton, Kho-Kho, Wrestling, Boxing, Football, Handball, Athletics, Cross Country, Kabaddi.

The college has a well-established computer lab for the students to keep them abreast of the latest technology.

The college has a Good and hygienic Canteen Facility within the College Campus.

The College bus is available for the students at reasonable charges and plies from the College campus to the Bus Stand, Reasi. Interested students are required to deposit the fee in a single installment at the time of admission.

The College has been graduating students from this Institution since 2003. These alumni are contributing significantly to nation-building and are making us proud. From the current academic session, an Alumni Association shall be constituted, and these alumni shall be invited for their valuable suggestions and contributions in developing this Institution as a center of excellence.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a separate parking facility available for the Staff and the Students. Staff vehicles have been issued a pass to be parked in the unmarked area. Students will have to prove their identity before they are allowed to use the student parking. A comprehensive proposal for the new parking area is in the pipeline.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The college has a gym for students.

 The College has provided. For information, Career Counselling and Placement has been established in the College to help the students identify and pursue their careers and adopt a vocation for their purposeful employment in private, public or Govt sectors. The Centre plays an important role in guiding and counselling the students and also providing them with all the relevant information from time to time. The Centre facilitates the students in preparing for various competitive exams and also initiates innovative programmes for their capacity building. Attempts will be made by the Centre during the current session to have an MOU with different educational, industrial and commercial concerns for the placement and job training of the students.

Red Ribbon Club

The College also has a Red Ribbon Club in which an opportunity is provided for the students to participate in various activities organized by the Club to create awareness for AIDS.

Art and Music Club

Art, in any form, can give emotions that can lift the spirit and make us more driven than ever. Music speaks to our emotions. It can positively affect the mood. The opportunity to hear and play different instruments builds good auditory discrimination and listening skills in students. It affects the overall development of a student’s personality, i.e., Emotional, Mental, and Educational. Art encourages the students to express their thoughts, feelings, and creativity through various art forms.

Sports Club

 Sports and games encompass more than just the benefits of physical activity. Sports increase Self-esteem and Mental alertness. Sports clubs can help students develop important social skills, i.e., good citizenship, positive peer relations, and Respect for the local community and authority. This club promotes an opportunity for youth to learn skills that will help them in college as well as in their future careers and personal relationships. Through engagement in sports, they learn Leadership, Teamwork, Problem-solving, Responsibility, Self-discipline, and a sense of Initiative. 

Health and Eco Club

The purpose of the health club is to educate and bring awareness to our campus and community about various health issues affecting our city, province, and world. On the other hand, the Eco club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. The focus of the Health and Eco club is whole body wellness rather than just physical activity, and to create a clean and green consciousness among the students through various innovative methods. This club is a platform where the students become sensitive towards environmental problems. They offer programs and activities to encourage others to save the environment.

Literary Club  

The literary club offers a competing platform for knowledge-hungry students. It promises to cultivate a passion for Quizzing, Debating, creative writing, Literature, and Elocution, etc., among the students. The literary club aims to inculcate among students a love for language and enhance their literary skills. The Club will provide a platform to sharpen the skills of logical, intellectual, and independent thinking and imbibe a sense of confidence.

The college has a boys’ hostel that provides good accommodation for students.

The college has a Girls’ hostel that provides good hostel accommodation for students.

The college provides good classroom facilities.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facility for visiting faculty and Student family members.

The college also provides extracurricular activities like NSS and NCC.

The college also provides workshop facilities for all the students.

The College has ICT-enabled features for all the students.
