Government Polytechnic College for Women, Madurai

The College has hostel accommodates 250 students and the hostel administration runs on smooth wheels, offering a comfortable, disciplined, and enjoyable stay to the home students. So, for the students, the hostel is a home away from home. The hostel mess is run by a dividing system and the average mess rate per day is about Rs.30/- The principal is the warden and is assisted by the deputy warden, stewardess internal auditor, and an accountant. The warden is vested with full powers in the matter of administration and general discipline of the hostel.

The College has library has more than 16000 books and around 30 Magazines. The Central Library will remain open from 10 AM to 6 PM on all working days. Approximately 2000 books are being borrowed by the readers annually. A more or less similar number of books is referred to or consulted by the readers in the Central Library. A collection of 100 books on technology is available in the library for reference. Identity Card is compulsory for using the Library facilities. Students and Staff are required to enter their names and reference details in the register kept in the reference section for that purpose.
