The College has its central library which contains large numbers of books, about different courses, the latest journals, technical and nontechnical magazines, and newspapers (English & Hindi). To help, the students belonging to low-income groups and deprived classes the institution provides a free book bank facility. More than 150 nos. of students benefited each semester from this facility. The library is fully computerized and an internet facility is also available. The library has also been facilitated with a Photostat machine where students can get photo state copies by paying a nominal amount. The book reservation facility has been extended to students and faculty members. The latest years have been procured in the library. The library has sufficient space and furniture to cater to the needs of the students.

Government Polytechnic Hamirpur is promoting outdoor recreation and sports by providing separate sports facilities within the college building as well as on the ground. Students are free to engage in games such as cricket, football, and volleyball, while for other indoor games like table tennis, chess, and carrom, facilities are available to enhance students' recreational and competitive spirits.

The Government Polytechnic Hamirpur has a contemporary and wide-ranging information technology system with campus-wide high-speed internet access. It incorporates state-of-the-art computer labs fully furnished with the most recent computer devices and software licences so that students from all the departments may be able to keep abreast of the latest technological developments.

A cafeteria serving various cuisines is present on the campus, offering a social space for students and staff to take a break and recharge. In a clean and comfortable environment, it provides a range of hygienic meals, snacks, and beverages at reasonable prices, thus catering to a variety of dietary requirements.

The Government Polytechnic Hamirpur has a spacious, well-equipped auditorium which is generally used for conducting seminars, meeting guest lecturers, and holding cultural activities. Equipped with the latest audio and visual facilities and having a comfortable seating arrangement, it acts as the central point for all institutional gatherings and industry interaction sessions.
