The college provides good hostel facilities to the students. It has an accommodation of 100 students on a first-come, first served basis. Boys hostel also has a fully-functional mess with hygienic food. Warden supervises the routine activities of the hostel. 

Government Polytechnic Koderma also has a well-equipped library with a wide range of books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and books by international authors. Students generally use the library to read, prepare for their upcoming examinations or project work.

Government Polytechnic Koderma has indoor and outdoor sports facilities for the students. Outdoor sports such as cricket, football, lawn tennis and volleyball are available. Indoor games are also available such as ludo, carrom, and table tennis.

Government Polytechnic Koderma has good IT infrastructure facilities for the students. It is equipped with good internet connectivity to assist the students in their academics and project works.

The institute also has an auditorium with good seating capacity and air-conditioning. Various seminars, academic and cultural events are conducted.

Gymnasium at Government Polytechnic Koderma is equipped with state of the art equipment such as treadmill, cycle, and dumbbells. Students can access the gym at any point of time.

Our passed-out students from different branches of engineering are being admitted to degree colleges for higher education through a lateral entry system. The Training and Placement cell of the Institute comprises Professionals with long experience in evaluation, training, and liaison with real-life workplaces. The cell undertakes correspondence with prospective employers, arranges campus interviews, and prepares students for bringing real-life situations outside the sheltered life of the Institute. Interaction of students with scientists, technologists, and executives is arranged paving the way to future career development.
