Ispat Autonomous College, Rourkela

The college has separate hostel facilities for boys. To encourage women students, The construction work is expected to commence shortly. The proposal for a boys hostel shall be submitted to the UGC during the XIth plan.

The college has separate hostel facilities for girls. To encourage women students, the UGC has already sanctioned a sum of Rs.80 lacs for a women’s hostel. The construction work is expected to commence shortly.

The College has a library that has a rich collection of books and journals including rare books like ‘Purnachandra Bhasakosa’. The library has gone online from the session 2008-09. A reading room adjacent to the library has a seating capacity of 50 with facilities such as internet connectivity, reprography, etc. As of 28th February 2011, the number of books in the library stands at 23006. It operates a book bank for the benefit of needy students. The library subscribes 32 (thirty-two) journals including foreign journals like ‘Scientific American.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has most of the departments having computer facilities to cater to the needs of the students and the teachers. Apart from the computer facilities in the department, a Centralised Computer Lab functions with 20(20) PCs. The different sections of the office are equipped with computers and peripherals for the smooth functioning of activities.

The college has a spacious playground of its own for organizing different sports events. Sufficient sports equipment is available as per the requirements of the students. Indoor games facilities such as carrom and chess are available to students in the boy's Common Room and Girl's Common Room. It is proposed to construct a basketball field during the XIth Plan. Representing the University and the State in different events are regular feature with the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.
