Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering, Vizianagaram

A privately owned and maintained boys’ hostel abetting the college campus is being encouraged to provide the necessary residential services for boys. The boys' hostel with all necessary amenities is getting ready by June 2017, to accommodate 350 students in the first phase that will expand to 1000 in the next phase.

Girls hostel measuring about 80,000 sft. for a strength of 350 students, wherein 32 rooms accommodate 3 students in each room and 120 rooms accommodate 2 students in each room. An experienced fulltime warden takes care of students and their needs. The hostel features a separate reading room, completely digitalized library, a Gym for fitness, continuous power back, high-speed internet and access to the telephone for students.

The college has health center with first aid facility for the students.

MVGR Library consists of a Central Library together with a Digital Library and nine departmental libraries which collectively support the Teaching, Research and Extension programmes of the InstituteThe Library has always been striving hard to meet the expectations of its users, with professionals and its supporting staff.All the students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking the Library Membership.

The College has well developed sports infrastructure in place catering to the student needs providing a whole some environment in getting to the stage of inter-university competitions. The volley ball court and gymnasium relieve the students from their routine thus providing moral energy in taking up new challenges. Dr. P.V.G. Raju Sports complex developed in collaboration with Andhra Cricket Association have everything to order in the realm of physical education. The students represent the college at various national level events in Cricket, Volley ball, Basket ball, Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennicoit etc., proving themselves in all aspects beyond academics.

The college has computer labs with required facilities.

Food for brain is supplied in classrooms and food for body is supplied at cafeteria. The spacious cafeteria offers varieties of delicious and hygienic food for the young minds. Apart from breakfast, lunch and dinner, students can have snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and confectionery. A team of experienced members closely monitor the quality of food and consistently upgrade the menu to match the tastes of young generation. Students can select their food from the menu which contains vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes at reasonable rates. There are separate cabins for faculty and students. In addition, a fresh choice bakery outlet is also available within the campus.

Open Air Auditorium with a capacity of 1200 provides ambience for students to exhibit their talent during mega-events like College Annual day celebrations, Student Fests etc. It also provides platform for welcoming parents at the time of student induction program on the first day of college.

A fleet of 33 buses take responsibility for picking up students and dropping them to their respective destination. The facility is for the students who commute from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Bobbili regions. A total of 24 buses allocated for Visakhapatnam, 6 buses for Vizianagaram and 3 buses for Srikakulam and Bobbilli regions. Separate bus facility for all the first year students is an added advantage for the new learners. Everyday students reach their destination safely by availing the facility. The bus in-chargers would closely work with the transport convener for the students’ comfortable journey. In- addition, the convener addresses to any special requests or concerns related to transportation. In addition, there are number of public and private transportation available, for every five minutes, from the campus.
