Mahishadal Girls College, Purba Medinipur

The college has a beautiful hostel with the accommodation of 500 borders inside the college campus. It is run by the direct supervision and control of the college. There is a hostel committee to look after the interest of the borders. Boarders are to abide by all the rules and regulations of the Board of Residence, Vidyasagar University. Any violation of rules must strictly be penalized. Considering the benefits of the students coming from poor and middle-class families, the hostel meal charge has been fixed at Rs.700.00 (to be revised) per month only excluding the monthly seat rent of Rs.350.00(to be revised) for Electricity and Generator charges Rs.25.00 per month. Boarders are to pay all charges at the college cash counter within the first week of every month. Defaulters are to pay a fine of one rupee per day.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college houses a fully equipped gymnasium for the fitness activities of the students. Under the supervision of the instructor, students can practice physical training.

The College Central Library provides a reading room and lending services to our members. The other facilities are facilities for searching OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), searching e-resources through the NLIST program of INFLIBNET, browsing the Internet, etc. There is a Book Bank facility for economically backward students. The Library Stock is computerized with the help of SOUL 2.0. Bar-coding of books has been started. We are going to automate our circulation from the 2017-2018 session. Every year, the Library conducts a User Initiation Programme to acquaint the 1st year students with the rules and regulations of the Library as well as the techniques for searching OPAC, searching e-resources, etc.

The college has an Indoor Sports Hall (28m. x 38m.) that has been constructed comprising of Badminton Court, Table tennis, Multigym, and Boxing Ring in order to make our students strong and stout and to enhance their smartness and reflex of body.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College is a well-furnished canteen in our college to provide refreshments to our students, faculty members, and staff.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
