Merit College of Education, Ariyalur

The College has a spacious library with a reading room. It has a very good collection of books useful to enrich academic and technological knowledge to become a perfect teacher with the required information to meet the quests of the young generation.

It has magazines, Journals, periodicals encyclopedias, dictionaries, and reference books. The regular functioning of the library is maintained.

RULES & REGULATIONS

• Library remains open from Monday to Saturday from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on all college working days
• .All staff/students are required to sign in the library register while entering the library
• All UG, and PG students, and staff members are eligible to be enrolled as members of the library
• Each student will be issued 4 – library tickets and staff will be issued 5 - library tickets that are not transferable. Each university Rank holder will be issued an extra 2 – special library tickets.
• Books issued can normally be retained for 15 days by the students and one month by the staff
• Dictionary, Reference books, Dissertation, Periodicals, and Newspapers will not be lent out
• For loss of the books the borrower has to replace the books
• The use of cell phones inside the library is prohibited.

The College has Well-equipped laboratories available for the students. The available laboratories are :

1. Biological Science Laboratory
2. Computer Science Laboratory
3. Education Technology Laboratory
4. Physical Science Laboratory
5. Psychology Laboratory.

The College provides separate hostel facilities for Boys. Students are provided hygienic vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with a purified drinking water supply. Cots are provided for the benefit of the students. Strict Study hours are conducted by the hostel faculties in the evening & morning hours. Students are provided with sports materials during play hours after college hours in the evening.

LCD TV is installed for entertainment on ton weekends. The guesthouse and Staff Quarters are under construction. Internet lab is opened for the benefit of the hostel students after the college hours between 4.30 & 6 PM.

The College computer laboratory has a set of modern computers with the latest updated software and hardware to facilitate the students with practical knowledge of using computers in their teaching and learning process.

The College has a year sports competition conducted to make the students physically fit and mentally mature and practice there in games and events.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
