Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar

The University. At present, there are 12 hostels of the Central Institute of Technology for boys. With the opening of first-year degree classes and the constraints faced by the students, especially the outstation student,s to find accommodation in the town, the Institute is making arrangements for opening more hostels for boys.

The University, although not all the hostel buildings on the campus are ready, has arranged rented houses and maintained separate hostels for boys and girls in different parts of Kokrajhar town, apart from two CIT Kokrajhar hostels on the Campus.

The University Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar library, is the liveliest place on campus, providing a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment that enables learning and the advancement of knowledge, promoting discovery and scholarship. 

The University has two central computer centers with more than two hundred and fifty nodes with the latest Operating Systems and applications software. The computer centres are connected with wired and wireless LAN and have NKN connectivity (1 Gbps) for internet access. 

The University has an auditorium facility for events and seminars. The Institute has two well-equipped seminar halls to organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and interactive programs, which have a capacity of 100 audience members each. 

The University provides transport facilities for the students and the staff. At present, the institute has four buses which fly at regular intervals from 8.30 am till 6.00 pm from different parts of Kokrajhar town,n where our hostels are located, to the institute campus. 

The University has well-established laboratories in all the departments as per the requirements of Diploma, Undergraduate, and Post-Graduate Programmes. All the laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure with modern facilities, including an uninterrupted power supply and internet facilities to create an amicable atmosphere for laboratory classes and R&D activities. 

The University has a Guest House with A/C and non-A/C rooms, which are primarily meant for the guests of the institute. A full-fledged Conference Room forms a part of the Guest House.

The University has two Canteens inside the campus to cater to the requirements of food and refreshments for the staff and the students. The central canteen is run by the experienced farm selected through the bid while the other canteen is volunteered by women Self Help Group. Both the canteens serve homely food. 

The University center inside the campus. It is equipped with all the primary medical facilities. A medical officer and a staff nurse are in charge of the health center to address the medical needs of both staff and students of CIT. An ambulance is available 24×7 Hrs to provide emergency medical services to both staff and students.

The University has a Gym facility for the students. This facility helps the students to create and innovate ideas. 

The University Institute of Technology has Games and sports among the students of the institute since they keep a healthy balance between the physique and the mind of an individual. The institute provides all the basic sporting facilities to the hostel boarders. 

The University has provided full-fledged internet and LAN connectivity to the administrative block, academic block, laboratories, workshops, staff quarters, guest house, and hostels within the campus. Wi-Fi Connectivity is also available to both the staff and the students inside the campus.

The University has A well-equipped virtual classroom that has been recently inaugurated for attending and interacting with e-classes broadcast from institutes like IITs, IISC, etc., and for organizing conferences, seminars, and invited talks. 

The University Alumni Affairs Office at CIT Kokrajhar consists of a dedicated team of faculty and student volunteers and staff members headed by Associate Prof. Pranav Kumar Singh. The Office is further assisted by the Advisory Committee, consisting of faculty representatives from each Department. 

The University Motive of the Central Institute of Technology placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
