MU Facilities

Boys Hostel

Manipur University, Imphal provides hostel facilities for boys. At present, there are 7 men's hostels with complete facilities. The hostels also include recreational amenities like television. Indoor games including table tennis and carrom are available to guests. The hostel wardens are in charge of the hostels.

Girls Hostel

The university's on-campus housing options include 10 women's hostels, as well as 2 hostels for overseas students. In addition to having indoor gaming rooms, televisions, and other recreational amenities, the hostels are fully wi-fi connected. In each hostel, there are wardens.

Medical/Hospital

In addition to non-resident students, members of the university's teaching and non-teaching staff, and inhabitants of the campus, all of whose health is taken care of by the university health centre. The Manipur University, Imphal's neighbouring villages are also served by the health centre's services. 

Gym

Manipur University gym facility is equipped with modern equipment for workouts. The university also provides a trainer to guide the students. The gym facility is available for both boys and girls.

Library

The Manipur University, Imphal Library has a collection of about 1,90,000 books, 8600 peer-reviewed e-Journals under the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, and subscriptions to over 280 national journals and 43 foreign periodicals. On the MU campus, OPAC provides access to the Library's whole database. Every working day, the library is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. It is open on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For improved access to electronic journals and internet connections for instructors, research scholars, students, officers, and other university staff, a 24x7 Wi-Fi connection has been constructed in the university.

Sports

The University gives special consideration to the student's overall welfare. To encourage students to participate in diverse social activities, it offers facilities for extracurricular, co-curricular, and sporting events. Through the National Services Schemes, the University routinely hosts literary and sports competitions, youth festivals, and other social events. The University's students have a history of success in co-curricular and extracurricular pursuits. At the Zonal and National level Youth Festivals and Meets of the Association of Indian Universities, many people have achieved success in sports, dance, and other sociocultural endeavours. 

I.T Infrastructure

There is a computer centre at Manipur University, Imphal that was started in 1985. The Systems Manager, who serves as the Centre's Head, is in charge of managing it. Three officers—a systems engineer, two programmers, and six additional support staff—serve as the systems manager's backup. 

Cafeteria

There are 11 additional dining locations on campus. In addition to the canteen, where students, guests, and residents can get breakfast and lunch.

Auditorium

The university auditorium is used for multi-purpose activities like organising events, seminars, workshops, etc. The auditorium is very spacious and can accommodate a large number of people.

Wifi

The University has installed high-speed access points (APs), routers, and switching network devices on its campuses as part of the MHRD Campus Wi-Fi Project. There are currently approximately 4000 people registered on the system, including students, faculty, and staff. With dedicated onsite engineers, M/s RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. fully maintains and manages the WiFi services. 

Banks/ATMs

The campus also houses one Post Office, the State Bank of India, and the Bank of Baroda with ATMs.

Transport Facility

Five university buses run twice daily routes between the city and the school. Additionally, a variety of private transportation options connect the campus with various locations throughout the city.

Guest Room/Waiting Room

There are 4 guest houses at the Manipur University, Imphal. There are around 25 rooms in the oldest guest house, including VIP rooms on both the first and second floors. There are 80 rooms in the International Guest House, 25 rooms in the HRDC Guest House, and 20 rooms in the International Students' Hostel.

Classrooms

The college includes modern classrooms to provide better teaching experience for the students. Wi-fi is available in every lecture hall and classroom.
