New Alipore College, Kolkata

The New Alipore College Library is enriched with a large stock of valuable Books, both text and reference, Journals, Magazines, and Daily News Papers for both lending and reference purposes. The library also provides access to subscribed and open-access resources through the digital library service. All the students and staff members have access to every resource and service provided by the library with a library membership card.

The college provides facilities for indoor games to the students. Carom, Table Tennis, Chess, and Badminton are the four indoor games provided by the college. The common room of the college is equipped with all four indoor games. The college organizes annual competitions of these games, and positive participation is observed on the part of the students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure for the students. The college has a rich IT infrastructure that stands as a backbone for the amicable functioning of the college. There are more than 100 computers, including desktops and laptops, in different departmental laboratories, office terminals and for administrative purposes, including the Principal, Vice-Principal, Bursar, IQAC, Examination section, teachers’ room, etc. The department of Computer Science facilitates Computers with high specifications in the Computing laboratories with internet facility and LAN support. Similarly, the Journalism and Mass Communication laboratory is also equipped with advanced PCs and software for advanced editing and processing purposes.  

The canteen has been renovated and the seating capacity has been augmented.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a are separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Anthropology, Electronics, Journalism, and Geography, equipped with modern equipment.

The expansion of the Internet and wifi technologies has raised the education system to the next level. Four wireless routers have been installed on each floor to enable the service of WiFi. The Wifi systems are password protected. 

The college has a girls' hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a good network for the alumni association.

The college has the Banks/ATM facilities for all students.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like photocopying facility and stationery etc.)

SMART classrooms have been set up, and teachers can arrange for technology-enabled classes by giving prior intimation to avoid a clash of timings. Students have shown great enthusiasm and interest when classes are held with the use of PowerPoint or the internet.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a Club facility for students.

The college has a Workshop facility for students.

The college has encouraged extracurricular activities like NSS, NCC, Arts and crafts, Etc.

The college has Motive of the placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
