Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakudy

The college has an intake of hostelites in the college hostel of 80 only. At the time of admission, an amount of 3000/- will be collected as Hostel advance along with an amount of Rs 1000/- as a caution deposit.

The college has First aid boxes available in all departments. Emergency medical requirements of the students are taken care of by tutors with financial assistance from the PTA

The College has a full-fledged Gymnasium-cum-Health Centre in the Department. It is equipped with modern and sophisticated machinery, such as Multi-Station and Single-Station Machines for enhancing physical fitness. Students, teachers, as well as members of the non-teaching staff make good use of the facilities in the health center to tone up their health and physique.

The College Library welcomes staff and students from all knowledge areas. Its extensive collections are ideal for in-depth research, and there is a large reading room perfect for private study. Opening hours are from 9.00 am to 04.30 pm on all working days (without break). The time may be extended at the request of students and other academics.
Current issues of the various journals received by the college and daily newspapers are kept in the library during working hours. Students should maintain absolute silence in the library. They should not remove any journal or newspaper from the library dogear, tear off pages or pictures, or deface the journals in any manner whatsoever.

The college has excellent teams in Cricket, Football, basketball, netball, Chess, Track and Field, Kabaddi, and Best Physique. They participate in D-Zone, Inter-Zone, Inter-University competitions, and National-level competitions. The Department conducts Inter House Competitions in Cricket, Football, Basketball, Netball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, Shuttle Badminton, and Track and Field. The annual Sports Meet is regularly held colorfully under the auspices of the department

The college has a Computer Science Laboratory. In the Computer Science laboratory, there are 30 computers with internet facilities. Both open-source and Licensed software are available in the lab to educate students as per the university syllabus.

The College A canteen with all facilities is serving the students and staff more or less effectively. Tea, snacks, and lunch are supplied at nominal rates in the canteen.

The College Auditorium came into being at a cost of Rs.10 lakh from the MP-LADS fund of Sri K. Karunakaran, Member of Parliament (Rajyasabha) in 2000-’01. The project was implemented in connection with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the college. It was inaugurated by Sri K. Karunakaran on Dec 17, 2001.  

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has much sought-after communication and linguistic skills are acquired by the students using a modern Language Lab. 18 students can crack the skill puzzles at a time with the help of a teacher. The Language Lab is attached to the Department of English. The BSc Computer Science Lab is attached to the Department of Mathematics.

The college has a Co-operative Society that is functioning on the campus entirely for the benefit of students. Society is supplying books, stationery, etc. at margin-free prices to students. The society proved to be a great help to its members as the college is in a remote area.

The college has a Smart Classrooms facility for all students.
