Punjabi University Regional Centre For Department of Education, Bathinda

The Department has the requisite infrastructural facilities as per the norms and standards set by the National Council for Teacher Education. The Department has four well-equipped classrooms. Besides, it has well-equipped Resource Rooms for Educational Psychology, Educational Technology and ICT, Physical Education, Mathematics and Science, Arts and Craft. The departmental library has a collection of about 6250 books on different fields of the discipline of education. The library subscribes to 6 journals, 2 magazines, and three newspapers. A Book Bank is also working in the department. Here books are made available to needy students and are issued to them for the whole semester.

Department of Education at Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bathinda was established in June 2001. Since its inception, a large number of students have obtained their B.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees from this department. It is a matter of pride for the department that most of its pass-outs have been appointed as teachers and teacher educators in government and private institutions. Besides, a considerable number of these students have opted for further education. It has been felt that to keep in touch with the old students and to maintain a sense of belongingness to the department among them, an Alumni Association of the Department needs to be formed. The department has gathered the required information about the old students and has prepared their session-wise lists. It is in the process of forming an Alumni Association shortly.
