The college has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a girls' hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The College has a full-time pharmacist who is present at the Institute during working hours. Smti Patricia Thabah (M. Pharm) is a full-time Pharmacist at the Institute. The Institute has a ready stock of medicines which are issued to the students as and when the need arises. Serious medical cases are referred to the nearest hospitals and clinics available.

The College library comprises various quantities of books to keep up with the needs of the students of different Engineering branches of the Institute. The Institute continues to take all necessary steps and measures to help the students get all the books from the library except for where there is a shortage of supply. The student uses the Library regularly to complete their assignments and prepare for the examination. The Shillong Polytechnic Library has till now received around 1700 (One thousand seven hundred) books for different Engineering branches with a cost of around 7,85,000(Seven lakhs eighty-five thousand). Apart from Engineering books, the Shillong Polytechnic library has many books related to Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, etc.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The College is well equipped with the latest Laboratory and computing facilities in all departments. The Institute has a sophisticated Computer Laboratory with 2 Mbps internet facilities provided by NIC (Shillong) which is accessible to the students for various academic purposes. Further, each faculty is also allowed a computer in their chamber with internet connections for Lecture preparations, maintaining records, etc.

The College has been contributing tremendously as far as technical manpower in the state is concerned. The Training and Placement Cell keeps track of the various job opportunities available for the students. Training is imparted on how to face interviews by conducting mock interviews. The Cell also invites Companies to conduct Campus Interviews for their recruitment requirements. Organizations including public and private sectors have been regularly inducting our students into their workforce. Various government organizations such as Doordarshan Kendra, MES, BSNL, AIR, MECL, PWD, PHE, and Irrigation amongst others, have absorbed our students for technical services and continue to do so. Passed-out students are also employed in Private Sector companies such as Star Cement, MCCL, TOPCEM, Lafarge, and others and are keen to induct more of our students into their respective organizations as skilled technicians.

The College has a Workshop that is the backbone of Technical Education. It imparts Practical Training to the students of different branches of Engineering. In our esteemed Polytechnic, The Workshop plays a paramount role in molding, shaping, and preparing the students to face future challenges in the field of technology. The Course structure of Polytechnic is designed in the format of 50% Practical and 50% Theory classes to cater to the requirements at the supervisory level employing skilled manpower in the technical workforce of the country.
