St Thomas College, Bhilai

The college provides accommodation to a limited number of women students who are from outstation depending upon the availability of hostel seats and in accordance with hostel rules. The hostel is located in a separate building inside the campus. Care, vigilance, discipline, health, and hygiene are given top priority in the hostel. It is also cost-effective to make it affordable for students.

The college has a Health Centre with First Aid and a Sickroom facility with a wheelchair. The Staff of the college is trained for providing a First Aid facility and the Doctor is available on call. In case of emergency, arrangements are made to take the patient to the nearest hospital. For Girls, hostel inmates’ medical care is provided around the clock.

The College Central Library is a two-storied building, that provides a place to study, material for study, and services to assist with study. Students have access to a lending library, reference library, paperback library, non-print media library, and a vast treasure of journals (current and back volumes), magazines, and newspapers. With a computerized database of books in the library, the search and retrieval of books are much easier. The central library has an INFLIBNET facility for students, teaching staff as well as a research scholars. The Reference Library is on the ground floor and has a collection of valuable books.

The College has facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. Indoor: Sports Room with Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess. Outdoor: Football, volleyball, and basketball.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College has a green and spacious outdoor canteen with adequate chairs and tables and offers clean, healthy and hygienic food at reasonable rates.

The college has a Seminar Hall with an audio-visual facility with an 80-100 seating capacity. In order to accommodate the growing needs of the college, a conference hall with a capacity of 300 seats was made functional to organize Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Guest Lectures and to screen films for the students. The college has an open-air stage for events like welcome, annual day celebrations, etc.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college laboratories are fully equipped with a complete set of the latest tools, inventory, apparatus, and instruments, which cater to the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The experienced staff helps both teachers & students to ensure that rigorous methodologies are adhered to while performing experiments, results are recorded accurately, and strict safety procedures are followed.

The college Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus during working hours but not in the hostel.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college SBI ATM at the main gate is available for staff and students of the college as well as for the public.

The college Students must park their vehicles only in the places speciåed for the same, and should not use the vehicles inside the campus beyond the parking areas.

The college also provides Training and Placement opportunities for all the students.
