Surya School of Engineering and Technology, Villupuram

The College Hostel, located within the college campus, consists of two blocks, one each for boys. It is a residential hostel for full-time graduate and postgraduate students admitted to the Surya group of the institution. All community areas like the dining room, common room, recreation room, washroom, etc., are provided separately for boys. The Hostel Committee, under the Chairmanship of the Dean, frames the rules and regulations of the Hostel from time to time and is the final authority in matters concerning the management of the hostels.

The college has a health center with a student first aid facility.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has a Main Library and 7 Departmental Libraries that collectively support the teaching, research, and extension programs. The Library is fully automated and has a huge collection of books on Engineering, physics, chemistry, English, and Mathematics. The college library is functioning to provide services to its members to promote educational excellence in the Surya group of the institution.

The students of the EEE department brought laurels and won the events in sports (Outdoor and Indoor) conducted by the college. The staff and para-teaching staff supported and encouraged the students at every level of their interest. Outdoor sports activities include cricket, volleyball, basketball, athletes, and shuttle cork. Indoor Sports activities: Chess, Carom, Table Tennis.

The College has IT infrastructure facilities like a DBMS Lab, Java & Internet Programming Lab, Operating Systems Lab, & Computer Graphics Lab, Network Lab, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Lab, an Open Source Lab, a Research Lab, and Computer Practice Lab, Communication Skills Lab.

The college is equipped with a fully functional mess to serve hygienically prepared food to the staff and students. The Management runs it under the guidance of the Principal and Mess Manager. A separate wing for both boys and girls has been provided, which can accommodate the strength of 500 each. Vegetarian, as well as Non-vegetarian food, is served in the hostel. Mess charges are collected on an annual basis at the time of admission. Parents and guests are allowed to consume food without paying for them.

The College has an Auditorium Facility. A 300-seater mini air-conditioned auditorium.

The College has an Excellent transport facility available from Villupuram, Pondicherry, Tindivinam, Marakanam, Kootroad, Cuddalore, Gingee, Vetavallam, Thirukovilur, Vadalur, Neyveli, Township, and Ulundurpet to the college during the working days.

The College has a Wi-Fi Facility, A state-of-the-art computer center that is Wi-Fi integrated for over 150 terminals.

The College has laboratory Facilities for all departments like the Department of Mechanical Engineering: CNC Lab, DOM Lab, THERMAL Lab, CAD Lab, MECHATRONICS Lab, Department of Civil Engineering: Concrete and Highway Engineering Laboratory, Survey Laboratory, Soil Mechanics Laboratory, Department of Automobile Engineering: Automotive Electrical and Electronics lab, Vehicle Maintenence, Automotive Components lab.

Training and Placement Cell is vital in the Surya Group of Intuitions with fully equipped infrastructure. Placement cell plays a very important role in guiding and counseling the students of the college for their successful career placement which is a major interface between the stages of completion of the academic program of the students and their entry into the appropriate employment. The placement team maintains a very cordial relationship with all the recruiting industries and invites various industries from across the country for campus Interviews. This cell also coordinates various activities related to the career growth of the students by conducting programs on “Personality development”, "Interpersonal & communication skills" "Career Planning" and "career mapping".
