The college has Separate hostels available for men. The hostel can accommodate 360 boys. Two students stay in one room. Single-room accommodation is given to the final years and PG Students. The hostels are situated within the college campus. The various facilities include a 24-hour water facility from the RO plant, and a mess providing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Internet facilities are provided for inmates every evening and on Sundays. ATM facility is available for the hostel inmates. The Mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for boys, as well as for Vegetarians and Non-Vegetarians.

The college has a library that serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge. The library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt a user-friendly approach towards students and faculty. The library intends to offer comprehensive services related to the dissemination of knowledge. It also has a Digital Library which provides online access to the e-resource of the Digital Library portals of IEEE, ASME, ASCE, etc. The Smart Campus consists of modules on acquisition, cataloging, circulation, serials, article indexing, and OPAC. The library aims at serving the academic needs of all students and faculty members. The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, atlases, etc. The Reference Section facility is extended to the students, staff, and faculty of the Institute. The library also supports the reprography section.

The college has Sports and games play a vital role in student’s life and their professional career. A student’s educational journey does not end with his / her academic achievements alone. Sports and games happen to be an inseparable part of the academic curriculum to promote the sporting spirit of the student community. The Physical Education Department must recognize and tap the hidden talents of young sports players by conducting a variety of sports events. These events enable them to train and achieve more in the sports arena. Over some time, they become thoroughly professional Velammalian sports stars. At VCET, sports activities are given the utmost importance. We provide ample opportunities for the students to take part in sports activities. Our students regularly participate in Anna University Tournaments, Tamilnadu Inter Engineering Sports, Association Tournaments, and Invitation Tournaments and bring laurels to the institution and themselves in the future.

The college has an Alumni Association that maintains & enhances a vibrant community of alumni & friends, The College Alumni Association was formed on 15th August 2013. The purpose of the VCET Alumni Association is to establish a web among alumni, to enhance the Interpersonal relationship between alumni and present students, to promote the welfare of students, and to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the college and its alumni.

The college has an ATM facility available for the hostel inmates.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has all the working days, the transport is available on all routes covering 30km in and around Madurai. During the time of semester examination, it is available on a limited number of routes. During coaching and special classes, model exams, and university exam periods buses will be operated in limited routes depending upon students’ strength.

The college has a variety of club activities that are part of the college life of the students.
