NSS College, Ottapalam

The college hostel is built for the safe and secure accommodation of female students of NSS College Ottapalam. Now there are 54 inmates, including 2 teachers. Among these 30 students (15 SC and 15 ST) claim for E grant. 7 PG students, 45 UG students, and 4 staff are also present.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college Library undertakes an active role in the teaching, learning, and research activities of the college. It is equipped with a very large collection of textbooks, reference books, critical editions, journals, and magazines. The library is hosting over 49000 books at present. Besides the central library, all PG departments have a departmental library where students and faculty can do research. A Digital library with an Internet facility is provided to all students. Along with freely available e-resources, the library has membership in the INFLIBNET consortium N-List. All routine library activities, including the OPAC, circulation, and acquisition, have been computerized using an Integrated Library Management Software, Book Magic. The library functions from 9.30 to 4.30 on all working days. 

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has a Computer Lab. Internet facilities are provided in the Computer Lab and in the departments for staff and students. Admission to the computer center is open to all students. Students are allowed to enter batch-wise so that each student gets sufficient time to use the computer.

The college canteen functions on the campus. The College Canteen supplies snacks and meals to the students and staff at a concessional rate. Outsourced caterers provide food and refreshments with proper rate contracts. It is monitored by a Canteen committee

The college has a strong and large number of alumnae scattered all over the world. The alumnae have donated many infrastructural assets to the institution. The ornamental gate of our college and a lecture room in the ‘Rajatha Smriti ’ qualify for special mention and appreciation. They also provide endowments for the meritorious students.

The college has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College has Internet facilities provided in the Computer Lab and in the departments for staff and students.

The college also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
