Purushottam Thote College of Social Work, Nagpur

The college has a well-stocked library with around 13,000 books and several journals and periodicals. The library is fully computerized and offers bar-coded services. The library offers excellent support for students to prepare their assignments and project reports. The library also offers a photocopying facility. Books of the library cover the principal fields of interest in social work, sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, psychiatry, social research, statistics, criminology, correctional administration, criminology, and correctional administration, community development, social welfare administration, health, family and youth welfare, personnel management and hospital administration. The selection of the material is geared to meet the needs of postgraduate students and Ph.D. scholars. Although this is a particular library, there are books of general interest and also a small collection of fiction. The library receives several professional periodicals in addition to a few periodicals of general interest. The library is kept open on all working days, including throughout the year, except on public holidays from Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, including Saturday but excluding Sunday.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Games like Tug of War, Kabbadi, Langdi, Sack Race, Shot put, Long Jump, Badminton, 100 meter Race, Three Legged Race, Volley Ball, Kho-Kho, and so on are the competitions organized at the institute level.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. The College has a full-fledged computer center with multimedia computers, internet and printer facilities subject to the rules of the courses. Students can make use of the center for e-mail, internet browsing, word processing, creating presentations, and data analysis. Students are also given basic orientation in the use of computers and the internet
