Sports

The College Sports play an important role in nurturing the minds of the students. It develops positive thinking among the players. The Director of Physical Education of the institute conducts and motivates the players to participate in Inter-Collegiate, Inter Classes, Zonal, Inter-Zonal, and Inter-University Tournaments/Competitions in association with the University and District Level Sports Association. The team representing the Institute is selected based on performance and is given coaching by experts. Apart from nutrition allowance, practice facility, travel, and daily allowance, blazers, and incentives are given to the students. The institute promotes and encourages the participation of women in intra-and inter-college sports competitions. The institute provides regular coaching camps for such sportspersons. Women are given special coaching, counseling, and facilities to participate in sports at the regional and national levels. The players participate in regional and national-level inter-college tournaments regularly. Such sports activities motivate students to participate in sports and games. The institute also promotes inter-departmental sports and games competitions to motivate the students. The students of the institute have won many prizes and ranked in regional/national level sports.

Alumni Associations

The College Alumnae Association functions actively for the development of the institute through financial and non-financial means. The institute organizes meetings of the Alumnae Association regularly to share and discuss the issues related to the progress of the institute. Such meetings help to share their ideas and expectations with the administration. The alumnae have been contributing significantly to the development of the institute.

I.T Infrastructure

The college has a well-established mechanism for upgrading and deploying campus IT infrastructure. The IT facilities have been upgraded in several phases as and when required. While planning IT infrastructure, the college first assesses the need, the number of students and staff, and also identifies the end-user. The Router, Broadband, and Switches are upgraded or replaced.

The College has Wi-fi connectivity as per the needs of the students.

Girls Hostel

The college's needy students from remote places are provided with the hostel facility. The institute has constructed 3 hostels to accommodate a maximum number of students. It also helps to maintain the hygiene of the hostel mess.

Laboratories

The College Institute has 20 laboratories. The support staff cleans and maintains the physical infrastructure, equipment, etc. The laboratories are cleaned before and after the practicals and prepared for the next day's practicals. The laboratories are utilized in two sessions. The College has Chemicals, Laboratory equipment, and tools available for departmental use. Laboratories, instruments, models, charts, maps, slides, specimens, botanic garden are substantially used by the faculty in support of their teaching work

Library

The College library is user-friendly and kept dust-free and ventilated. The attendants keep the library premises clean. The library area, including reading halls and the stack room, is cleaned and updated regularly. The students of the Earn while Learn Scheme help in this regard. The library is used for referring to various literature, book lending, reading facilities, book bank facilities, accessing e-resources, etc. The literature is issued on borrow cards.

Auditorium

The College has an open stage constructed on the premises of the institute to organize various functions such as the annual day, convocation ceremony, various day celebrations (anniversaries, cultural days, etc.), and demonstrations throughout the year. These activities are organized in the seminar hall on certain occasions.

Cafeteria

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

Medical/Hospital

The college facilitates medical assistance by the government whenever needed for staff.

Gym

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

Guest Room/Waiting Room

The college has a guest house/waiting room facility for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.

Training and Placement Cell

The College Placement and Career Guidance Center acts as an interface between the students and industries and helps the students with their campus placement. The students are promoted and provided jobs through personal contacts of the faculty with reputed companies and educational institutions, and graduate and post-graduate students from different departments are employed. The cell informs the students about various job opportunities and motivates them to apply for various jobs. The Placement Officer always provides guidance and gives references for the benefit of the students. The cell has established contacts with the career guidance providing agencies. These linkages helped our students to experience career building. This practice has made sincere attempts to provide career opportunities to the aspiring workforce.  

Extra Curricular Activities

The College has three colors in the flag that depict the three Services of the Corps: red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy, and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag are encircled by a wreath of lotus, giving the flag a colorful look and a distinct identity. Each lotus represents one NCC Directorate (DTE), and the National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) has been introduced at Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1969 as a part of the extracurricular programme. The objective of the scheme is to provide educational and moral values through service to the community. It is a student-centric program that is implemented for developing interactive skills and awareness among volunteers to become better and more capable citizens of the nation. The volunteers visit the rural areas and focus on developing the village and creating awareness among underprivileged people to improve their status. The scheme promotes the ability to present them in a better manner. The N.S.S. is a sponsored programme by the University and has been active in the institute for the last 22 years. The girl students contribute to social activities and awareness programmes conducted by the college, as well as participate in Government campaigns. The N.S.S. activities help students to approach social problems and the community. About 200 girl students are selected and participate as N.S.S. volunteers every year in the activities.
