Sankara College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore

The College has a well-stocked Library that has been emerging as a knowledge resource centre catering to the needs of the Faculty, Research Scholars, and Students. The college has two libraries which are located in the UG block and PG block for utilization. The library is well furnished to provide the ambience for peaceful learning. Core collections of library books are available to support staff, students, and research scholars for effective utilization along with systems for online access.

The College has fully equipped state-of-the-art sports facilities. Large Football fields, Volleyball and Tennis courts, Cricket pitch, and a well-maintained track enable the students to prove their power in the sporting arena. The college encourages sports activities and gives Physical Education a status on par with academia. Sports scholarships are given to students who are placed at top levels. The college has an extraordinary 400-metre Play Field with International Standards.

The college is sufficiently equipped with 300 computers with adequate lab facilities. They are networked with high-speed LAN, all original licensed software, and broadband internal facility.

The College has an exclusive hostel facility for girls inside the campus near the main block with an accommodation capacity of 100 students with 25 rooms. A hygienic kitchen and mess facility is available inside the hostel for food service. The candidates seeking the hostel facility have to submit separate hostel forms to the college administrative office signed by the Principal and the Administrative office to book accommodation. Hostel admissions are subject to room availability.

The College of Science and Commerce established the alumni association in the year 2015 and the association is registered under the Societies Act, Govt. of Tamilnadu in the year 2018. Alumni association is a boost for the college and students to get guidance and experience with alumni members through alumni talks and know-your-alumni events.

The College has a Canteen facility. The quality of food offered in our college is on par with the best Food courts in the city. It is highly hygienic and satisfies the taste buds of students from various states.

The college has 10 buses to transport students in and around the city. The busses routing includes Coimbatore City, Tiruppur, Mettupalayam, Sathyamangalam, Avinashi, Sirumugai, Palladam, Sulur, Thondamuthur, Echanari, Malumichampatti, Puliampatti, etc. Students have to get prior approval from the administrative office to avail of college buses. Separate transport identification cards will be issued to all students coming through the college bus.

The college is equipped with one A/C Seminar Hall which accommodates up to 250 seats and a Mini Auditorium which accommodates 500 seats, to conduct Guest lecturers / Seminars / Conferences / Symposiums / Workshops to the varied audience.
