The College Library is a repository of excellent text and reference books on various disciplines of Under Graduate Engineering Programme and Post Graduate Engineering Programme such as ME (CAD), ME (ED), ME (PS), ME (EMB), ME (A.E), ME (CSE), MBA and MCA., offered by the Institute. The number of specialized engineering books including Science and Humanities and other inter-disciplinary subjects is 45072 and more than 167 Journals are subscribes and ONLINE Journals IEEE, ASME, and ESDU subscribed from AICTE- INDEST CONSORTIUM. The Library is housed in a spacious building constructed on modern and functional lines. The Library has an area of 990 sq.m. The seating arrangement is designed in order to accommodate 130 readers at a time. Besides lending, reference and reprographic facilities of the library have been computerized and all the systems are connected with LAN for Library, where the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) helps the readers to search the library materials easily. The library has other modern facilities like, Internet browsing section which has 30 systems for net surfing with the support of 8 Mbps Leased line connectivity and an uninterrupted power supply. Audio and Video section is supported with an LCD Projector and CD ROMS facility.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

There is a canteen for the benefit of students, staff, and visitors, provide food at a subsidized rate. Apart from this, a fast food center, which is a part of the canteen.

The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

20 Buses are run by the college to pick up the students and staff from various points in the city of Chennai. In addition to this separate Minibusses and vans are provided for the staff.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.

The college offers a very comfortable living accommodation with separate hostels for boys within the campus under the care of resident wardens. There is one hostel for boys with enough space to accommodate the outstation students. The college has separate hostel facilities for men with all amenities. Utmost care is taken to serve wholesome food. Adequate security arrangements have been provided for the safety and security of the inmates. The Men's hostel accommodates up to 400men with a separate mess, common room, etc. Considerable stress is laid on a clean and healthy environment. The hostel provides hygienic and quality food to suit diverse tastes and preferences. A comfortable mess hall has also been provided. The hostel rooms are provided with a table, chairs, cupboards, beds, common bath, and hot water facilities. The other common facilities include the availability of telephone and television.

There is one for girls with enough space to accommodate the outstation students. The college has separate hostel facilities for women with all amenities. Utmost care is taken to serve wholesome food. Adequate security arrangements have been provided for the safety and security of the inmates. The women hostel houses around 100 women. It has an independent kitchen, mess, health equipment, common room with Telephone facilities. The hostel provides hygienic and quality food to suit diverse tastes and preferences. A comfortable mess hall has also been provided. The hostel rooms are provided with a table, chairs, cupboards, beds, common bath, and hot water facilities. The other common facilities include the availability of telephone and television.

SCPT gives a lot of thrust in the overall development of the students. As a part of the above, vital care is imparted in promoting sports activities throughout the year. Details of the same are furnished below: Sports and Games is an area much sought after by the student community of this college. Playgrounds, 400 meters athletic track, swimming pool and equipment for outdoor and indoor games facilities are available for meeting the enthusiasm of such students and faculty. Students of this college have the honor of being frequently selected to represent the Anna University in many teams. They have made remarkable feats as winners and Runners - up ranging from the Inter-Collegiate to the university level in games and athletic events and have retained the championship in the university division.
