Boys Hostel

The College has a Separate Hostel facility is available for Boys. Aesthetically designed, the hostel blocks are spread around the campus. The hostels are interconnected, mostly in blocks of three. Each of the blocks has a square in the center where badminton courts with good turf are maintained, with some blocks also having lawns in the square. Each hostel block has a common room where facilities such as wall-mounted televisions, table-tennis tables, and carom and chess games are available. It is the common room that provides the scene of action for get-togethers, parties, and informal discussions. Each block is also equipped with fully automatic washing machines and each floor is further equipped with landline phones, water coolers, and water purifiers. The individual rooms are furnished with teak cots and bedding, a computer table, chairs, closets, and shelves. All rooms have full-time wireless internet connectivity with direct lines to the main LAN. The housekeeping staff is available throughout the week and takes care of cleaning the rooms, corridors, and restrooms on a daily basis. Dedicated mess facilities and round the clock canteen facilities are available in the hostels. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available and the pan-Indian menu is managed by the student body. Various other snacks, biscuits, chocolates, ice cream, and soft drinks are available in the mess itself. Apart from this, the hostels also connected with excellent gymnasium. CODE OF CONDUCTResident scholars are expected to maintain perfect discipline and proper atmosphere of studies in Hostel. They should remain in their rooms from 9:30 PM to 5 AMIf any resident scholar tries to disturb the academic atmosphere of the hostel, he/she will be immediately expelled from the Hostel. Resident Scholars are not allowed to entertain day scholars in Hostel Rooms even during daytime. Taking of wine or beer or any other intoxicant in Hostel is strictly prohibited. Smoking in Hostel Campus and in rooms is strictly prohibited. Defaulters would be fined and the guardians will be informed of the same. Resident Scholars should be regular for classes. Quarrels and disputes with fellow boarders should be avoided. In case of dispute report the matter to the hostel warden. All routine complaints, in the first instance, shall be lodged with the Hostel Warden. The borders in their own interest must use strong and reliable locks for Hostel Rooms. The resident scholars are advised not to write, display or paste any indecent photographs, posters etc on walls or glass panes or in their Rooms. Resident Scholars are required to adhere to the Mess timings strictly as notified. Hostlers are advised not to indulge in any kind of bribe lent to mess workers. Leave of a border from the institute does not mean leave from the hostel. The border must apply for the same on a prescribed application form. Leave from the hostel shall be sanctioned by respective wardens. Students absenting themselves from Hostel without getting leave shall be penalized. The last Reporting time for hostlers back to hostels in the evening is as follows

Medical/Hospital

To look into routine medical problems of the students, our college has separate M.I. room. A qualified Pediatrician has been engaged in each M.I. room, to look into the daily medical problems of the students if any. There is an arrangement of a proper bed in each M.I. room for the students to take rest after being given treatment. Medical camps are organized to bring awareness to students about good health practices. Besides keeping themselves physically and mentally fit, our students are taken to places, particularly our villages, to create awareness amongst the people who are not much aware of various dangerous diseases prevalent in our country.

Gym

The College campus takes great pride in its state of the art Gymnasium. The gym is equipped with most modern workout machines like an exercise bike, rowing machine, stepper, and multi-gym. Also, dumbbells and discs are available in all sizes to provide participants extensive free weight training. All the three types - Flat, Inclined and Declined - are available for the bench-press enthusiasts. The Gym floor features a layer of plywood and adds to the ambiance of the Gym, making the workout a highly enjoyable and refreshing experience. A complete boxing kit consisting of punching bags and gloves adds another feather to the cap. The SGI Campus also employs the services of part-time yoga trainer and weight instructor.

It gives College people full opportunity to learn, live purposeful lives and grow to their full potential, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Its role is to support, supplement and enrich the formal classroom teaching by providing various services. SGI Library plays an active role in this direction and provides various information services. It is a fully automated library with Internet and Intranet connections thus making it a vibrant system, capable of providing the latest information to its users in their respective fields. A team of professionally qualified staff members, headed by a Chief Librarian, and another qualified staff manages the Library. The library has more than 50000 books covering all disciplines of Science, Engineering & Technology including bounds volumes of periodicals. At present library is subscribing a good number of national and international reputed printed journals and magazines as well as e-journals and magazines in the field of Engineering, Management & Technology All the housekeeping operations of the library are fully computerized. It is also providing a facility of Digital Library online database, e-journals and e-documents are made available to the users. It is playing a vital role in the collection development and dissemination of engineering and technical information to meet the present and future needs of the institute. It has a good number CDs & DVDs databases, audiovisual materials, access to e-journals and e-books. We take a major initiative to provide information services to Engineering & technology professionals from time to time. We are committed to continually developing and improving all our services, especially in relation to those groups with any special requirements. Advances in providing electronic access to many of our resources off-campus have increased the support. We can offer to distance learning students. Special resources are also provided to meet the needs of part-time students. Service Hours:The Library shall remain open on all working days from 9:00 am to 5.00 pm. The issue counter shall be open at 10.00 am and closed an hour before the closing of the Library.
