SIVET College, Chennai

The College has a hostel block spread over a land of about 14,500 sqft, which includes a spacious dining hall, a general room for reading, recreation, and playing indoor games. The hostel is supplied with RO water and a telecommunication facility. Hospitals are available in the vicinity.

The College Library was established in 1966, along with 250 books. Our library had a humble beginning, and over these 50 years, its growth has been phenomenal and transformed from a “book-only” library to a modern “digital library” with an invaluable Collection of e-resources to cater to the increasing information requirements of the U.G., P.G., and research students.  Spread over about 2,000 square feet, the library is home to about 47,000 books.  Endowed with a first floor that houses a portion of the library’s book racks, the library provides a lovely ambiance to sit and read.

The College has a Physical Education department headed by Dr.M.Pari (Government aided) and Mr.S.Sivashankar (SF Stream).  The College has marked 3 acres of its land for the playfields and has ample Outdoor and Indoor Sports facilities 

Outdoor Sports: The facility includes separate grounds for Cricket, Football, Handball, and athletics (6 lanes, 200 mts track).  Besides, full-fledged space is allotted for: Tennis Court, Volleyball court, Basket Ball Court, Badminton Court, Kabaddi Court, Kho-kho Court, Throwball Court, Tennikoit Court.

Indoor Sports: The facility includes an indoor stadium well equipped with 3 Badminton Courts, 6 Tables for Table Tennis, and Rooms for playing Chess and Carrom. 

The College has a Computer center provided for the students. An Internet facility is available in the computer center for student reference. It has 20 computers with an updated configuration.

The College has well-equipped and well-furnished laboratories on subjects like Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, and Biochemistry laboratories towards the development and nurturing of the technical skills of the students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a modern gymnasium of 6 stations for Weight Training, Weight Lifting, Power Lifting, and Body  Building.

The college has a transport facility for students and staff.
