The college has a central library of S. S. College, Hailakandi, which was established in the year 1950 along with the commencement of the college itself to fulfill the information needs of the students and teachers in the form of study materials, books, periodical journals, a collection of the invited research article, etc. Within 50 years of service, the central library documented commendable upliftment. The library has a separate well-documented section for the collection of books on local tradition and culture to sustain the heritage of the past. For easier search and finding, the library collection is subdivided into several sections, viz: Text, Reference, Ready reference information, book bank, Computerized Lending, and Books on local tradition and culture: journals and recent traditions. At present, the central library of S. S. College has a total collection of 15958 books on various subjects and topics. The library subscribes to 18 national and international research journals and 5 local and national newspapers. The library has an OPAC terminal. This helps the user to find a particular book very easily with the help of a computer. The Library also has the DELNET consortium service subscribed. It facilitates the interlibrary borrowing facility for the students and teachers of the college. The College houses a computerized library having sufficient numbers of text and reference books, journals, newspapers, and periodicals. At present, the library has more than 18 thousand titles in various faculties. Students are required to produce a library card to avail of library facilities. The library is open on all working days from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
