The college has a library facility for all students.

Our College has a perfect library with reading facilities and it helps the student teachers to develop their intensive reading and writing skills. A good number of magazines and journals are regularly subscribed to.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. Library is open on all working days from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Library membership will be given to the students when they receive the college identity cards.

2. Students should enter their roll number and name in the gate register and sign in the same before entering the library.

3. The librarian may take appropriate action under intimation to the principal on a member found misbehaving in the library.

4. Cell phones are not allowed into the library.

5. No students will be allowed to enter the library without a college identity card. Outsiders should not be brought to the library without principal permission.

6. The library is a place for serious self-study. All must maintain a conducive atmosphere for silent study.

7. Disturbance of any kind is strictly forbidden. Those violating the rules of silence may be asked to leave the library.

8. Students shall not misplace books from their position in the racks.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. Laboratories used for scientific research take many forms because of the differing requirements of specialists in the various fields of science and engineering. A physics laboratory might contain a particle accelerator or vacuum chamber, while a metallurgy laboratory could have apparatus for casting or refining metals or for testing their strength. A chemist or biologist might use a wet laboratory, while a psychologist's laboratory might be a room with one-way mirrors and hidden cameras in which to observe behavior.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

There are separate Hostels both for boys and girls; well-furnished rooms with individual steel cots, and purified drinking water are a few salient features of the hostels. We have a high-power generator to meet accidental current failures.

More than 100 students are in the hostels. They are given a good meal with morning milk and evening Tiffin. As our college is surrounded by green trees, students enjoy the cool breeze. They are allowed to watch TV on Sundays and holidays.

The inmates are given special coaching by trained teachers in the hostel itself. The hostel children are kept in a neatly ironed dress daily.

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a health center with a student first aid facility.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a transport facility for students and staff.

The college currently provides transportation facilities by operating buses to take pupils from various towns, villages, and even interior places and they are operated and maintained by experts. We are proud to say that we keep punctuality and regularity in the operation of buses.

The college also encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities such as:

Yoga: The institution arranges a yoga Certificate program to bring all the students under one platform to prepare them mentally to be involved in various training programs and activities with full enthusiasm and zeal.

Orientation on Teaching Practice: 

The students have to undergo a 40-day rigorous internship to gain first-hand experience in teaching in various schools in and around Salem. Either the Principal or head of the department explains to them the principles to be strictly followed during these 40 days and also gives their valuable input and guidance to complete their internship successfully without any hurdles.

Web-based learning:

Overall 60 systems are provided with Internet facilities. Two periods are allotted where the students can search and gain knowledge.

Seminars

To have in-depth knowledge of the subject and to know how to present a topic to the audience, a Seminar topic is assigned to every individual student in all the papers. Every student should come forward and take the seminar to their peer team members. Concerned staff members observe the teaching style of the student and give their feedback to correct their mistakes and proper guidance will be provided.

The College has conducted workshops for the students. Teachers are motivated to prepare various Instructional materials like Charts, models OHP, Slides, Film strips, Flashcards, rotating charts, flow charts, and matching boards.

The college has good networking for the alumni association. The students of the Tagore College of Education hail from all walks of life and always carry bright memories of the Tagore College of Education and its Campus, as it aims to promote a healthy, congenial, and academically interactive atmosphere. The Alumni Association was initiated in its way by collecting data about their past students, keeping track of their academic records and achievements, and inviting them once in a way to address the present students, staff, and administration to discuss how the program can be worked out effectively for the benefit of the institution and promote the interests of the staff and students.
