Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar

The university provides separate accommodation facilities to boys. All basic amenities are made available in these hostels. There are a total of 10 hostels out of which 5 are for boys

Admission to the hostels is done on the basis of reservation and merit. Basic facilities like security, electricity, water supply, common room, indoor games, etc are provided to the hostelers.

There is a health centre that caters to all the medical needs of the students, faculty and staff of the university. It has 4 beds and it has two experienced medical officers, three nurses, technicians and a pharmacist.

Rajiv Gandhi University Itanagar facilities include a library. The library has many books, journals, reports, and international periodicals. It has been functional since 1998 and it has more than 60,000 books. The library is registered as an Institutional Member of Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi.

The Physical Education Branch was set up in 1999 to conduct programmes and activities for all-round development of the students’ personality. The branch conducts/organizes Sports, Cultural, Youth Affairs and Students’ Union activities etc. Infrastructure Facility and Equipment: Football Ground cum Track and Field (International Standard Size), Volleyball Court, Basketball Court, Badminton Court.

The university has the latest and modern IT infrastructure facilities. A computer centre was established in 2004.

The university auditorium is used by the students and faculty to conduct various activities and functions.

Bus service is provided by the university to Nirjuli, Naharlagun and Itanagar for students and staff.

The University takes pride in the sea of alumnus and an alumni association of the University is in place. All the former students (alumni) and present employees and faculty members are its members and associate members. Association organizes social events/workshop/symposium and carry out academic publications. It provides a variety of benefits and services that helps alumni maintain connections to its Alma mater. Additionally, the association supports new student during admissions through Helpdesks, etc.

Guest room facilities are available for the faculty and students’ family members.

The university provides bank and ATM facilities for all the students. One branch of Vijaya Bank with an ATM is present on campus. There is also a SBI ATM booth present on campus.

 The cafeteria of the university provides healthy and tasty food to the students, faculty and staff. Apart from this there is also a tea stall, a co-operative store, a bookstall, a pharmacy, few stationery-cum-grocery shops and a salon.

RGU Itanagar facilities include high-speed internet facilities. To access the internet facilities students have to register themselves online.

There are departmental laboratories in the university that help the students in gaining practical knowledge.
