The institute provides a separate well-furnished boys' hostel facility.  The SMVDU hostel facility includes a fitness centre, bank, ATM, medical centre, telecom centre, shopping complex and many others. 

The SMVDU facilities include a separate hostel facility. The girl's hostel facility includes a well-maintained mess facility, ATM, medical facility, telecom, shopping complex and many others.

The Medical Aid Centre employs doctors, female staff nurses, male medical assistants, a laboratory assistant, a helper, and an assistant. Students have access to an OPD, a laboratory, a dental unit, a physiotherapy unit, a 24-hour ambulance, a gender-specific ward, and a well-stocked chemist shop.

The SMVDU facilities include a GYM facility that is equipped with parallel bars, uneven bars and weight exercise equipment. The students can utilise the gym facilities during their free time in the morning or evening times.

The SMVDU facilities include a library. It is a technical library with many sections, including a technical section, a reference section, a book bank section, a periodical section, a reading section, a digital library, and a photocopy section. Students can evaluate books on any subject, including those taught at SMVDU and in multiple languages.

The SMVDU provides sports facilities such as a basketball court, tennis court, volleyball, cricket ground, football ground and many others. The SMVDU sports facilities include indoor and outdoor games. Students who are interested will receive special training from the institute.

The university provides excellent technology of IT infrastructure facilities for the students.

The SMVDU facilities include a mess facility that serves hygienic food. It also serves hostel students and the hostel warden. 

The institute provides an auditorium facility to conduct all professional and cultural events. The auditorium is used to organise seminars, presentations, webinars, extracurricular activities and many others.

The institute provides laboratories on the campus to build practical skills for the students. The SMVDU provides department-based labs.

The University provides accommodation for the guests of the university/ faculty/ staff/ students. The room's facilities include Air conditioners, LED, Wifi and many others. The institute also provides a well-furnished dining area for guests. 

The SMVDU facilities include a shopping complex consisting of around 10 shops which include grocery shops, sweet shops, snacks shops, barber shops, stationery shops and others.

The SMVDU facilities include a bank/ATM of Jammu & Kashmir Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce. The students of the university are required to have a bank account with any one of these banks which is used for students' personal finance as well as refunds from the university. The university also provides a post office for the users of residents of the university on the campus itself.

The SMVDU facilities include a transport facility that runs at specific times during weekdays and weekends. It also provides a special bus from campus to Jammu every Saturday. The public transport facilities are available in the form of a min-bus which plies on the Domel- Katra route.
